Some of America's best chefs are joining forces with the makers of Hidden Valley® Salad Dressings this winter to improve childhood nutrition – and you can help support the cause, just by going to lunch.
The Love Your Veggies™ campaign, from the makers of Hidden Valley Salad Dressings, has teamed up with the American Culinary Federation (ACF) and celebrity chef Cat Cora to launch the Lunch Break for Schools national fundraiser. From February 27-March 2, 2012 chefs like Cora will prepare and sell delicious, healthy lunches in their local markets. Proceeds from the sales of each lunch will help fund the American Culinary Federation's efforts to support the Chefs Move to Schools initiative. Chefs Move to Schools is a chef-led food and nutrition education program in America's schools, introduced by the White House in 2010.
The chefs' lunches will follow the framework of the White House sample one-week school lunch menu, which includes veggies and low-fat ranch dressing, such as Hidden Valley, four out of five days.
