Ingredients (11)

elbow macaroni or any pasta cut 1 box (12 oz.)
mayonnaise ½ cup
sour cream ½ cup
milk ½ cup
garlic powder ½ teaspoon
sliced yellow and red grape tomatoes 2 cups
precooked bacon 1 package (8 or 9 slices)
sliced olives (or one large one) 2 small cans
grated Parmesan cheese ½ cup
shredded cheddar cheese 1 cup
Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Seasoning, Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix Packet

Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Seasoning, Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix 1 seasoning packet or 3 tbsp of shaker seasoning

Boil your pasta according to package instructions. You want the pasta to be al dente so it's not overcooked.

While your pasta is boiling, gather all your other ingredients.

In a medium bowl, mix up your Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Seasoning, Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix Packet with the mayo, sour cream, milk and garlic powder and set aside.

Place all other ingredients in a large bowl.

Once your pasta is finished, rinse under a cool stream of water until all the pasta is cool.

Place the pasta in with the other ingredients, add the dressing and toss until well-coated.

Chill or serve right away.

Rated 3 out of 5 by OnlyOne from Excellent with some tweaking I was trying to reproduce a boxed salad mix I love on a larger scale, but unfortunately this missed the mark. I followed the mayo recipe exactly as written, however, I feel like the sour cream and milk missed the mark and cut the tanginess of the sauce dramatically, rendering it bland. I ended up adding nearly 1 additional cup of mayonnaise and another half package of ranch seasoning mix in order to elevate the taste. I then added par-cooked frozen peas and carrots to replicate the boxed mix. In the end, everyone loved the salad. Going forward I would replace the sour cream with mayonnaise or perhaps just eliminate the milk. I'll keep playing with the recipe but "as is" it isn't working for me.

I’m not talking about 1-2 bugs there was about 20 little black bugs floating around in my pot when I poured it in to cook. What is going on hidden valley, this has never happened before.
