Southern Chicken & Waffles
Dip chicken pieces in egg mixed with buttermilk instead of water. For an extra hit of ranch, stir Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® seasoning mix into the buttermilk mixture. Let sit in the buttermilk mixture for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Deep fry or bake the chicken until the crumbs are crisp and the meat is cooked through. While the chicken is cooking, make the waffles. Serve together with maple syrup, for dipping.
Schnitzel & Potatoes
Pound pork, chicken or veal until it’s a 1/2-inch thick. Dip in egg wash and coat in breadcrumbs. For an extra crispy crust, do a second round of egg wash and breadcrumbs to double up. Heat olive oil in a large frying pan about a 1/4-inch high. Cook until golden brown on each side, about five minutes per side. Alternatively, bake the cutlets until cooked through. Serve hot with mashed potatoes and fresh lemon wedges.
Fish & Chips
Cut cod or halibut—or other meaty white fish—into strips. Dip in egg wash and breadcrumbs. Shallow-fry or bake until the fish is cooked through and the crumbs are crisp. Serve with roasted potato wedges, malt vinegar and Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® dressing or tartar sauce.
Italian Fritto Misto
Dip mixed vegetables—green beans, zucchini, fennel, broccoli/cauliflower, etc.—in egg wash and breadcrumbs. Fry (don’t bake!) and serve hot with fresh lemon wedges.
Pork Katsu with Cucumber Salad
Dip pounded pork cutlets in egg wash and breadcrumbs. Heat olive oil in a large frying pan about a 1/4-inch high. Cook until golden brown on each side, about five minutes per side. Alternatively, bake the cutlets until cooked through. Meanwhile, slice cucumbers and toss with seasoned rice vinegar. Drizzle with Soy Vay® Veri Veri Teriyaki® sauce. Let sit for at least 20 minutes. Serve pork with cucumber salad.
