Rinse rice until the water runs clear, then drain and transfer to the bowl of a rice cooker. Stir in the broth, garlic and Hidden Valley® Spicy Seasoning, Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix Packet.
Layer chopped bell pepper and onion on top, then place sliced sausage on top of that. Place into the rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's directions for white rice.
Carefully remove bowl from the rice cooker, fluff with a fork and mix everything together. Cover bowl with a lid or plate and set aside to steam for 5 minutes.
Divide between bowls and garnish with sliced scallions, if using. Drizzle with Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Topping & Dressing if desired.
Ingredient Tips:
Smoked Sausage: Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces to allow the flavors to meld better with the rice. If you’re using a sausage with a tough casing, be sure to slice it thin enough so it cooks through easily. Browning the sausage in a pan before adding it to the rice cooker will enhance its flavor and caramelize the edges, adding extra depth to the dish.
Rice: If you’re using brown rice, it will require more water and a longer cooking time. Be sure to check the manufacturer’s instructions for your specific rice cooker.
