Original Ranch Crispy Chicken

Our ranch crispy chicken recipe is the ultimate comfort food. Bake in the oven for a healthier twist on crispy chicken.

THIS RECIPE IS AIR FRYER-FRIENDLY
Simply reduce the cooking time and temperature on your air fryer as shown here.*

Timing
Set air fryer timer for half the cooking time of a conventional oven. Add extra time for doneness if needed.

Temperature
Reduce regular oven temperature by 25° to 50° (not going below 350°) on your air fryer. If food is getting too dark, reduce by another 25°.

* Always follow manufacturer’s instructions.

    Preheat the oven to 375°F.

    Combine seasoning dressing mix with bread crumbs in a gallon-size Glad® Food Storage Bag.
  3. 3
    Add chicken pieces and seal bag. Shake the bag to evenly coat chicken.
  4. 4
    Bake chicken on ungreased baking pan at 375°F for 50 minutes or until juices run clear or an internal temperature of 165°F.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tastebuds Did A Happy Dance! 1st time I made this, as my title says "My tastebuds did a happy dance!" I thought I had checked out and was in Food Heaven! If you're a newbie cook, definitely go by the recipe your 1st time out. This way you know what you're doing. Here's a couple of tips for the newbie and the seasoned cooks that might come in handy; they sure did for me. #1. You've got no bread crumbs (I never use crush cornflakes (personal preference) but you've got RITZ CRACKERS any buttery type works great. You just have to make sure they are beaten into crumbs. #2. You thought you had regular chicken but you don't. You do find a bag of skinless boneless thighs in your freezer. Eureka! Make sure you carefully watch & check the temp on those thighs. You're gonna always follow your recipe minus the emergency substitutes when needed. I promise this chicken will rock the house! Enjoy!

I follow the recipe exactly, and it is delicious. My only recommendation is to use parchment paper for easier clean up. I usually double the recipe because the leftovers are so good when reheated in the oven.

Instead of using bread crumbs or crackers of any sorts, I used potato flakes and mixed the ranch seasoning in the dry flakes along with a few other seasonings. I used butter to get it to stick. I put it in the oven at 375 and cooked it for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Oven times vary to the climate. Came out astounding. My family loved it!!

Perhaps if the chicken had first been dipped in butter to make the breadcrumbs adhere and give it more flavor it might have deserved rave reviews. I notice that many reviews say children love it. For those raised on McNuggets, this might be a step up.
