7 Thanksgiving Sides to Dish Out

For us, the best part of a Thanksgiving feast is always the sides. So we’re giving thanks by honoring the Turkey Day’s most classic side dishes, all with a ranch twist. Did you expect anything else? Get ready to gobble them up!

  1. 1

    Original Ranch Mashed Potatoes

So creamy, so satisfying, and now so flavorful. This recipe uses the classic mashed potato base with creamy goodness, and then piles on a kick with a sprinkle of ranch. Now you only need to add the gravy! To make ahead and store, spoon the potatoes into a baking dish and cover well with Glad® Press’n Seal®. When ready to serve, remove from fridge about an hour before heating. Remove Glad® Press’n Seal® and place in a 350°F oven and cook for about 30–45 minutes until warmed through. Leftovers can be stored in the same way!

  2. 2

    Hidden Valley Glazed Baby Carrots

A little sweet, a little salty, these carrots compliment every dish on the table. The combination of brown sugar and ranch will ensure this is a favorite at the kids and grown-ups table alike. To store leftovers, place into a Glad® FLEX’N SEAL™ bag which stretches to lock in freshness. Seal tightly and place in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.

  3. 3

    Ranch Mac ’n Cheese

History says Mac ’n Cheese was served at the first Thanksgiving Day feast. Believe it? Either way, this dish is too good to not add to the Turkey Day buffet. Creamy and tangy, it will have everyone saying “Mac ’n Please.” To make ahead and store, cover baking dish well with Glad® Press’n Seal®. When ready to serve, remove from fridge about an hour before heating. Remove Glad® Press’n Seal®, place in a 350°F oven and cook for about 30–45 minutes until warmed through. Leftovers can be stored in the same way!

    Crispy Shallot Green Bean Casserole

This dish is so awesome, it deserves to be eaten year-round. It’s got it all — crunchy green beans, crispy shallots and creamy ranch & cheese. Our vote is to take it from just Turkey Day to everyday.

To make ahead, prepare the casserole up to right before you bake. Cover the baking dish with Glad® Press’n Seal® and refrigerate until ready to serve. Remove from the fridge about an hour before heating. Remove Glad® Press’n Seal®; then finish the recipe, cooking through and topping with crispy onions before serving. Leftovers can be stored in the same way, or in a Glad® FLEX’N SEAL™ bag or Glad® FLEX’N SEAL™ Freezer bag for refrigerator or freezer use.

  5. 5

Sweet Potato Casserole with Crunchy Pecan Topping

Sweet and savory, this dish has a place on both the dinner and dessert tables. It looks so elegant but is so simple to prepare. You can even prep a few days ahead & freeze to save some time. Simply cover with Glad® Press’n Seal® and store until ready to use. Be sure to remove at least two hours, up to overnight in the refrigerator, before heating to thaw slightly. Remove Glad® Press’n Seal® and bake until potatoes are heated through and topping is crisp. Alternatively, make the topping ahead of time and store separately in a Glad® FLEX’N SEAL™ bag in the refrigerator. Prep potatoes and top with reserved nut mixture before cooking.

  6. 6

    Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Our forefathers once said, no meal is complete without bacon. So in their honor, we give you this hearty Brussels sprouts dish. You can thank us later. Brussels Sprouts can be prepped a day ahead of time and stored in a Glad® FLEX’N SEAL™ bag in the fridge until ready to use. Leftovers can be stored in the same way, held in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

  7. 7

    Brussels Sprouts Gratin

Not that into Brussels sprouts? This dish will change your mind. Loaded with cheese and topped with breadcrumbs, it’s sure to become a family favorite.

To make ahead, prepare the casserole up to right before you add the breadcrumbs. Cover the baking dish with Glad® Press’n Seal® and refrigerate until ready to serve. Remove from the fridge about an hour before heating. Remove Glad® Press’n Seal®; then finish the recipe, topping with the crumbs and cheese before baking. Leftovers can be stored in the same way, held in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
